Separate things between Visual Studio and VS Code Asp.Net Core Developers. Don't mix things up in the same documentation how to do things in VS 2015 and VS Code. We VS developers don't want to care how the other developers do stuff, we want to stay in our VS without opening any other tool or anything.6 votes

Thanks for the feedback! We checked in with the author and there are two free chapters available here: http://app.deviq.com/courses/aspnet-core-quick-start
The free chapters also require the visitor to create a student account, but they do not require any payment information. The author is going to update the aspnetcorequickstart.com website to better highlight the free chapters.
On the page https://www.microsoft.com/net/core#windowscmd, step 2 mentions the following:
In which folder shall these commands be executed? Calling dotnet gives the following error:
'dotnet' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Please provide exact instructions, of how to install .net core.1 vote
Why do all your tutorials require a working knowledge of C#? I have been programming since 1968 (initially Algol and FORTRAN) and I much prefer using VB.1 vote
It could be greatful if the tutorials were updated, because some of them are using old versions of the framework. Also, I'm looking for a Web API CRUD and a Login Authentication using roles tutorials. I'll appreciate these resources.
By the way, in the examples don't use LocalDB. Adapt the examples for the real life.1 vote

Put a working tutorial on your site - or somewhere. Nothing works. Ever. I've gone to so many sites, downloaded so much extra code, bought so many books, tried downloading code from Github, I've tried Azure....please help someone who just needs to learn this crap.1 vote
