Fix The Name - Remove ASP (Active Server Pages)
Fix The Name - Remove ASP (Active Server Pages) from ASP.NET vNext, ASP.NET 5 or ASP.NET Core 1.0.
ASP or Active Server Pages is a decade old name that does not fit well with the new stuff that is written completely from scratch. The name appears to be part of an older technology and the name is getting more confusing through the years. The volume of comments at http://www.hanselman.com/blog/ASPNET5IsDeadIntroducingASPNETCore10AndNETCore10.aspx
is a sign that the more thought needs to go into the name.
Bring freshness to the name before we pollute the web with multiple names for the same thing.
We have 14 years of history and SEO built into the ASP.NET name and we intend to continue to build on and use.

Your declined reason doesn't make sense because ASP.NET and ASP.NET Core are going to cause SEO ambiguity and make it more difficult to find information specific to each one. While you're at it, Microsoft should rename Edge back to IE 12.

Please rename ADO.NET as well. Anything with ActiveX in it needs to go.
