Asp.Net 5 vnext Identity with external providers, email confirmation and password change walkthrough
The new, little packages nature of Asp.net 5 makes it very difficult and time consuming to understand how to do things and what to use.
Many gitHub repo does not have any wiki or documentations at all, you have to understand the code yourself.
A clear documentation on basic fundamentals like identity would be very appreciated.31 votes
I know there is a way to integrate active directory with MVC.
which might allow some configurations in web.config file and connect some how to active directory server.
Can some one provide in depth walk through?16 votes
This blog post may provide some of what you’re looking for: http://www.cloudidentity.com/blog/2014/02/12/use-the-on-premises-organizational-authentication-option-adfs-with-asp-net-in-visual-studio-2013/
Additional documentation is planned.
You gave a tutorial on "Creating an ASP.NET MVC app with auth and SQL DB and deployto Azure App Service" and I was curious how one would create the relationship between authenticated users and contacts they created? Could you show how to create parent-child relationships in this architecture? For example, have authenticated users that have contacts, and then perhaps a child of contacts called phone numbers? So one user can have multiple contacts and one contact have multiple phone numbers? I think having multiple levels could really help drive home what's going on. Thanks!7 votes
It will be very useful if we get a Dependency injection sample for ASP.Net MVC5 with Owin and without using System.Web1 vote
I’m planning on doing this for MVC 6.
