help me weed out the things that slow or crash my development experience (like IE9 does with add-ons)

allow me to install only what I need – including Microsoft-supplied bits; sorry, I don’t use Intellitrace, the design surface, architectural diagramming tools, or the in-box performance analyzer – they’re the junk in my trunk making me less cool to my buds using TextMate to whip out their RoR solutions

VS most of all IMHO. I know there are always new and interesting features to add, but a release with fewer features in exchange for more focus on perf would get my vote.
